This takes you from an empty account to your first mentions in a few minutes.
Enter your domain
Sign in and open Radar. With no project yet, you see one field. Enter your product's domain, for example:
Press Read site. Overhear reads your homepage and suggests a name, a short description, keywords and competitors. It also picks up your own social accounts from the page, so your own posts aren't counted.
No website? Open No website? Name it yourself and create the project by name. You add keywords afterwards in Settings.
Review the suggestions
A card shows what Overhear found. Check each field:
- Name: what the project is called in Overhear.
- What is it?: one or two sentences about the product. Claude uses this to tell posts about your product from posts that use the same word for something else.
- Keywords: comma separated. Each keyword is scanned on every source.
- Also track competitors?: tick the ones you want. Each becomes a keyword of its own.
- Your own accounts and site: these authors are ignored in every scan.
Press Create and scan, or Discard to start over.
Wait for the first scan
The first scan of every keyword starts right away in the background. Refresh the page after a few seconds. From then on, brand keywords are scanned every hour, competitors and lead phrases every 6 hours. You can change the interval per keyword under Settings.
Read the feed
The Mentions tab shows four numbers for the last 30 days (mentions, urgent, buying intent, complaints and bugs), then the feed, newest first.
Each mention shows its source, author, age and type. Urgent mentions and buying intent get a coloured edge on the left. Click a mention to open the original post.
Narrow the feed by source, by type, or to Urgent only.
Act on what matters
Hover a mention (on a phone, the buttons are always visible):
- Save adds it to Testimonials.
- Not related hides it from the feed.
- Mute author ignores the author from now on and removes their mentions.
Get told (optional)
In Settings, turn on Email alerts to get an email after each scan with the mentions that need you. Or add a Webhook to send every new mention to your own tools. See Alerts and webhooks.
